Rest in Peace Kenny - June 11, 2009

I was very saddened when a friend told me last night of the passing of Kenny Rankin. I became a huge fan the first time I saw Kenny perform on the Johnny Carson show in the early seventies. His voice never changed in all the years after that. He always sounded magnificant! My friend Frank and I have had the good fortune to have seen kenny perform at The Bottomline and other venues thoughout the years. I feel blessed to have seen him live and wish I had seen him more. God bless you kenny. Even the choirs of Angels will be amazed when they hear your voice and see your spirit. - bill

Downloads for Dana - May 28, 2009

Downloads for Dana:

Songs written and performed by Bill Hall - dedicated in loving memory to my Daughter Dana Hall who passed away on January 31, 2004 after her four and a half year courageous fight with Leukemia and complications.

A message and request from Bill:

I am in the process of recording mostly new material and some songs
written years ago (but not recorded or published). These songs are not for sale or profit. They will be posted on my website for MP3 download for anyone who listens to them and enjoys them. I will post them as I complete them. The first three are posted today in my “music” section http://billhall.us/music.html (May 28, 2009). I call these songs Downloads for Dana because Dana knew how much I loved to write and perform music and we shared a great love of all kinds of music. I humbly ask that anyone who downloads the songs consider making a donation (in any amount you can) to any of the following wonderful organizations in Dans's memory and in the memory of all who have died or continue to suffer from all forms of cancer.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital:
St. Jude's was very special to Dana. The link is as follows:

The Ronald McDonald's House Charities:
An oasis of comfort for parents and Children fighting cancer away from their homes. My wife Jeanne and I experienced their kindness for three and a half months. The link is as follows:

http://rmhc.org/

The leukemia and Lymphoma Society: (They fight everyday to find a cure and to support blood cancer survivors and their families)

The American Cancer Society: Dana would not forget nor will I the many other types of cancer that people suffer from in this world. The American Cancer Society continues as always to race for the cure. Here is the link:

More Thoughts:
Please consider donating blood if you are healthy and can do so. Dana would not have survived the four and a half years she did after her diagnosis with Leukemia if not for the beautiful gift of blood donation made by people we never met. So many sick and injured people need it!

Please consider being a volunteer to the “National Bone Marrow Transplant Registry“: Please read about this life saving process. There is still much research to prevent the complications of bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplant but for many such as Dana, it is their last and only hope to be cured of blood cancers at this time. Please consider a simple blood sample and register to be a donor. You could be the "perfect match" to save a life. Here is the link:

THANNKS SO MUCH for reading about "Downloads for Dana" and for your prayers and help.

For Dana - April 12, 2008

If running free were mine to give you
How many meadows you would run!
How many treetops in the wind would rustle every leaf with hope
If I could hear you laughing there
I'd smile a sky from East to West
I'd smile a sky form East to West
-Baby Dee
